NSA Eastern Region Shearling Ram Sale 2015

The first of two ram sales for NSA Eastern Region took place at Rugby Farmers Auction Mart, Stoneleigh on Friday 28th August, which was slightly later than last year.
The sale provided a facility for NSA members, as either vendors or purchasers alike, the opportunity to access quality inspected rams from Charollais, Texel and Suffolk breeds and there was a super show of MV Accredited Rams which met demand from start to finish.
Prices topped at 620gns for a Charollais ram from C.W. Thomas, who also took first prize in the shearling ram section and sold another two shearlings for 600gns and 560gns. Other top prices were 550gns for a Charollais shearling from A.D. and R.M. Thomas’ and 520gns for a Texel shearling from R.R. and M. Lawrence. Charollais ram lambs topped at 440gns, again from C.W. Thomas, while other ram lamb highlights were 440gns for a Charollais from A.D. and R.M. Thomas and 350gns for a Suffolk from J.B. and R.L. Cook.
