NSA Scottish Region Annual Members Meeting

Date: 17th February 2016

Time: 2pm

Location: Edinburgh Marriot Hotel, 111 Glasgow Road, Edinburgh, EH12 8NF

Wednesday 17th February saw NSA Scottish Region held its Annual Members Meeting for 2016. Formal business resulted in Sybil McPherson continuing as Chairman for a further year, while Billy Renwick was elected as the regions new Vice-Chairman. Maimie Paterson was also re-elected as regional Treasurer. Compressive reports from the Chairman and Treasurer outlined last year’s extensive activities, and was followed by an update from NSA Scottish Region Development Officer George Milne on current Scottish and UK policy work.

Once formal business was concluded, members enjoyed a butchery demonstration from Scottish Craft Butchers, cuts from which were auctioned off following the dinner which concluded the evening.

George reports: “Around 76 members and guests came together following the meeting to enjoy the dinner held by the region, and gave us the chance to catch up with old and new faces alike. Presentations from NSA Ambassadors Clarke Hibberd and Lynn Allison followed, who gave the audience an insightful overview of their experiences within the NSA Next Generation programme. This was followed by a talk from Jim Walker who delivered a frank account of the current situation regarding delayed Basic area payments. A raffle and auction were also held, and raised a total of £741 for charity.”
