Date: 15th February 2017

Time: 4pm

Location: Airth Castle Hotel and Spa, Airth, Stirlingshire, FK2 8JF

With Sybil MacPherson having completed two, two-year terms as Chairman and a vacancy for Vice Chairman and Trustee there was some hot competition for places at the NSA Scottish Region Annual Members Meeting, held on Wednesday 15th February. John Fyall elected as Chairman, Kathy Peebles as Vice Chairman and Aileen McFadzean joining Sybil MacPherson as regional Trustees. Maimie Paterson continues as Treasurer after an uncontested nomination.

Phil Stocker, NSA Chief Executive, reports: “Office holder elections were followed with an excellent presentation from NSA Scottish Region Development Officer George Milne who outlined some of the regions work during the year, as well as the challenges faced looking ahead. An enjoyable dinner ensued that evening, where nominated members and guests from the eight tables were asked to carve the excellent roast legs of Scotch Lamb (pictured), kindly donated by Scotbeef and run as a light hearted competition. George Purves, recently appointed Managing Director of United Auctions was voted the best carver. This was followed by presentations from NSA Next Generation Ambassadors Michael Ritch and Jamie Laurie who took part in the programme in 2016 and a thought provoking talk on Brexit and beyond from Irish Farmers Journal Editor Justin McCarthy. A charity raffle raised £720 and the evening concluded with a presentation by the region to Sybil MacPherson of a shepherds crook and crystal plaque.”
