NSA and JFC Agri UK prize giveaway 2019 - Edwin Jones

18th July 2019

The National Sheep Association (NSA) is pleased to name Edwin Jones, from Llanegryn, Gwynedd, as the second lucky winner in its membership prize giveaway for 2019.

Edwin, who is the third generation of his family to farm 400 acres at Nant Madyn in the Snowdonia National Park receives a prize package worth more than £250 of a JFC Agri foam sheep foot bath and 20 litres of hoof solution after he automatically was entered into the NSA prize draw when signing up to join the association, supporting sheep farmers of the UK.

Commenting on his win Edwin says: “I am really pleased to win this prize. We have needed to change something to keep on top of lameness with our flock of 600 Welsh Mountain ewes. We are hoping this will work effectively meaning we can improve productivity and finish lambs a little quicker.”

Edwin decided to join NSA whilst visiting NSA Welsh Sheep back in May, he says: “Having been involved with sheep and shearing all of my life I felt it was time to sign up. It is good to keep updated with technical news and changes to policy and NSA is excellent at delivering this information to its members.”

In addition to the sheep enterprise, Edwin also runs 20 Welsh Black cows and has recently purchased a Luing bull that he hopes will produce strong, healthy stock capable of outwintering on the Welsh hills.

Two further prize packages are still to be won in this years NSA membership prize giveaway. All new members are automatically entered into the draw and existing members can also qualify for entry by recommending a friend or neighbour sign up to.
