NSA Wales / Cymru Farm Walk

Date: 3rd September 2019

Time: 2pm

Location: Llywyn Y Brain, Newtown, Powys, SY16 3DA

NSA Cymru/Wales Region hosted its farm walk on Tuesday afternoon in Newtown, Powys, by kind permission of John and Sarah Yeomans. Attendees were treated to in-depth discussions about everything from flock health to grass management and were able to see the hard work the Yeomans have been putting into reclaiming land of their hill areas. NSA Communications Officer Eleanor Phipps comments: “Despite the damp and chilly weather, there was an excellent turn out for the tour. It was brilliant to see the mix of new grassland on the hills with the sheep and cattle grazing amongst the wind turbines. John and Sarah won Farmers Weekly Sheep Farmer of the Year last year and looking around at the brilliant mix of innovative work they have ongoing you can really appreciate why. Our thanks go to them and everyone they work with to put on such a fantastic visit – and to Dunbia for providing some lovely lamb steaks for the BBQ giving us the opportunity to celebrate LoveLambWeek!”

Thanks to John and Sarah Yeomans for kindly hosting this visit.
