NSA Marches Region Annual Members Meeting 2020/21

NSA Marches Region held its Annual Regional Members Meetings (ARMM) in early December via the online meeting platform ‘Zoom’.
The meeting attracted a larger than usual audience, perhaps enjoying the comfort of their own homes, who re-elected and approved the regional committee of Ant Spencer as Regional Chairman, Richard Vines as Regional Vice Chairman, Mike Credland as Regional Treasurer and Henry Dunn as Regional Trustee. As Ant, Richard and Mike also sit on the NSA English Committee alongside Marches Region’s Kevin Harrison (NSA English Committee Chairman) they were also re-elected to remain as part of this group.
Ant Spencer gave a short report on the region’s year, but with little feedback to give on activities as Covid-19 has restricted the region to just one regional farm visit this year that was enjoyed at Cotswold Seed’s farm Ed visitor site in September.
Following the formal business Simon Hall, Director of the Livestock Information Service joined the meeting to give an informative presentation on what the new system will offer farmers when it is introduced in Spring 2021. NSA Chief Executive Phil Stocker and NSA Policy and Technical Officer Nicola Noble also joined the meeting to give an update on recent NSA activity related to policy work.
NSA Marches Region Secretary Katie James comments: “The regional committee would like to extend its sincere thanks to the speakers at this week’s meeting. It was really pleasing to see so many members join the zoom call, many of whom were using the technology for the first time. The opportunity to hold the ARMM and so many other meetings online has been very welcome in this difficult year, but of course, we are looking forward to being able to meet in person once again very soon. As several ARMM attendees commented, the only thing missing from the meeting was a chance to also enjoy a catch up over a beer and some chips!”ad for members not able to join the meeting.
