NSA Eastern Region Farm Walk and Hog Roast

Date: 22nd September 2021

Time: 2pm

Location: Ickworth park, Ickworth, Suffolk, IP29 5QE

NSA Eastern Region invite you to a Farm Walk and Hog Roast at Ickworth Park by kind permission of the National Trust.

Meet at 2.00 pm, please park in the overflow car park and we will meet there.

Farmers Paul and his sister Lil are celebrating 50 years of running the sheep flocks at Ickworth. They currently have an 800 ewe flock of Mules, Lleyn x Mule and Exlana crosses. They lamb in April with minimal supplementary feed and grazing cover crops in winter, operating within Mid-tier Stewardship.

We will take a walk around the park, look at the sheep, hear about the archaeology and forestry from National Trust representatives. If you are unable to walk distances, a trailer will be available to transport you around. We will also look at the gardens of Ickworth House.

At the conclusion of the walk we will be hosting a Hog Roast and refreshments. Members and guests are welcome. We will ask for a donation to cover catering costs.

Please let Eastern Region know if you will be attending by contacting Carrol Barber on 01953 607860 or by email [email protected] or phone Paul on 07778 180642.
