NSA Sheep South West

Date: 11th June 2013

NSA SW is delighted that NSA Sheep SW will be held at Moortown Barton, Knowstone, South Molton, this year. The Snell family are extremely enthusiastic hosts and looking forward to the day with preparations well in hand, both by Michael and David and the organising committee, who are looking to build on the success of previous events.

Given the perfect location on the edge of Exmoor and easily accessible to Dartmoor we are hoping for a record crowd. Following the usual format of 140+ trade and breed society stands, seminars, competitions, demonstrations and farm tour, there will be plenty of interest for everyone.

Now in its fourth year the Shepherd of the Future competition covers lamb selection, basic maintenance and safe handling of ATV’s, shearing, vet section (such as correct vaccination sites, footcare, calculating dosage rates etc) and a multi-choice written paper. This is complemented with a student section.

These classes and the fleece competitions need to be entered in advance.  Entry forms can be downloaded from the website.
