NSA Northern Ireland Region AGM

Date: 19th November 2013

The NSA Northern Ireland Region AGM saw John Blaney elected as Regional Chariman. John will be assisted by Campbell Tweed of Cairncastle as Vice Chairman.

John farms 600 acres of hill and 30 acres of lowland in the heart of Antrim Glens. He is well-known throughout Ireland as a Swaledale breeder, and has also been working with the Swaledale Sheep Breeders Society to help promote the breed since he took early retirement in 2001 from teaching for 30 years in a local secondary school. He has been an active member of NSA NI for a number of years, looking after the sheep breed entries at our Sheep NI events, and has been looking forward to his term as chairman after two years as Vice. He is already working hard to represent NSA and support the sheep industry at numerous meetings. He has also been elected by the NSA NI Committee to represent them on the NSA UK Policy and Technical Committee.
