National Sheep Association and the Exmoor Hill Farming Network event

On Wednesday 7th December, NSA members from the South West region took part in a lively meeting with representatives from the Defra engagement team. This long-planned meeting organised in conjunction with the Exmoor Hill Farming Network was intended to provide an opportunity for farmers in the South West region to hear an update from Defra while at the same time giving them a chance to input on topics important to them. 

Unfortunately, due to delays in the ELMs review and planned government announcements, it wasn't possible for the team to provide much more insight than was already available on this. However, it was useful to hear in more detail about those elements that are already available and the intended direction of travel. In addition, the meeting gave a good opportunity for Defra to hear the passion that farmers in the region have for their livelihood, and the knowledge of those working in the sector. Thank you to Defra and all those who attended.
