Time: 10am – 4pm

Location: Rhug Estate, Corwen, Denbighshire, LL21 0EH

Join NSA Next Generation at this Autumn workshop viewing the renowned organic Rhug Estate in the beautiful North Wales countryside.

This free to attend workshop will highlight how Rhug is committed to sustainable livestock production during an insightful farm tour that will be followed by talks from Rhug Low Carbon Project Officer Mared Williams as well as industry experts from the Centre for Innovation Excellence in Livestock (CIEL) and Welsh levy board HCC.

NSA Next Generation Ambassadors will also join the workshop to discuss how the next generation of sheep farmers can help promote the positive future for the sector to new entrants and consumers seeking a sustainably farmed product.

A free lunch will be provided to all attending

Rhug Estate is leading the way by investing in measuring and monitoring its carbon footprint so that improvements can be made to make the entire farm business reach the Government’s target of net zero carbon emissions by 2050 including its Low Carbon Project aiming to measure and monitor the carbon footprint of the whole estate. This will be explained at the workshop.

Rhug has taken its first steps and has measured the carbon footprint of Rhug Organic Farm, and as a result they have discovered that due to the work already done on the estate, it is very fortunate to be in a carbon negative position.
