NSA South West Region talk from Neil Parish MP, EFRA committee chair

Date: 11th December 2020

Time: 2pm

Location: Online - zoom meeting

On Friday 11th December 2020 NSA South West members took part in a lively discussion with Neil Parish, MP for Tiverton and Honiton and chair of the Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (EFRA) Select Committee.  NSA South West Regional Manager Ian May comments: "The meeting provided those present with an opportunity to discuss a wide variety of the issues we're all currently battling with. These topics included the recently published agricultural transition plan away from BPS towards ELM and other schemes, potential government intervention in the event of market disruption in the new year, making the most of alternative export opportunities and the role of AHDB in this, long-term strategy within Natural England, and welfare, live exports, transport times, distances and conditions. We really appreciate Neil providing us with this opportunity for what felt like a truly 2-way discussion and hope that we can build on it in the future particularly during this period of unprecedented change in the industry."
