NSA Breakfast Club - The farmer's role: A morning discussion to inspire support for Love Lamb Week
Time: 8.30am

Love Lamb week is an annual campaign promoting and encouraging the domestic consumption of lamb during its peak season. Launched in 2015 by passionate Cumbrian sheep farmer Rachel Lumley in response to poor lamb prices the campaign is now firmly established running annually from 1st to the 7th September.

NSA Wales & Border Early Ram Sale
Location: Royal Welsh Showground
A strong trade with brisk bidding for quality rams set the season off to a confident start at the NSA Wales & Border Early Ram Sale. The sale at the Royal Welsh Showground saw a top price of 1600 guineas paid for a Charollais shearling ram, with two Texel tups selling for 1400 guineas each.

Changes to trade experienced since the UK exited the EU at the start of 2021, have been widely reported. Those involved in the livestock industry are aware of the initial teething problems, some hopefully behind us now, but there are still reports of delays in exporting products to the EU, excessive bureaucracy, increased labour needs (and labour shortages), shortages of haulage and drivers, and some customers have just gone elsewhere for an easier life.
