NSA, Elanco and Moredun Webinar 2 - Sustainable Parasite Control: Test Don’t Guess

The 5th August saw the Moredun Foundation, Elanco, and NSA come together to deliver the second in a series of webinars on internal parasite control, this one focussed on Liver Fluke. The webinar attracted nearly 200 attendees and was chaired by Kevin Harrison, Chair of SCOPS and also NSA English committee chairman.

The webinars are designed to provide farmers a practical overview of these two parasite challenges, covering: the wider impact of worms and liver fluke on flock and herd productivity and profitability; the importance of monitoring and testing; practical application on how to make a difference on farm.

As the highlight of this year's NSA Eastern Region Winter Fair, the seminar line up featured many leading names from the sheep industry delivering thought provoking advice to the good number of visitors in the audiences. The event kicked off with AHDB’s Nerys Wright discussing results from her study into the effects of ewe body condition score on lamb performance, revealing that a condition score one year will have future impacts on performance beyond the current lambing season.

NSA Cymru / Wales Region Annual Members Meeting 2020

New NSA Wales/Cymru Chair, Brecon vet and sheep farmer Kate Hovers, set the tone for the Annual Regional Members Meeting. She urged a renewed emphasis on cutting food waste rather than ‘farmer bashing’. Kate Hovers BVSC Cert SHP MRCVS BVSC Cert SHP MRCVS told the meeting at the Royal Welsh Showground that it was important to think about journeys, transport and food waste.
