NSA trade consultation responses underway

5th October 2018

NSA has been busy responding to a series of consultations from the Department of International Trade asking for views on potential future trade relationships with New Zealand, Australia and the USA, and potential involvement in the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP). NSA has now responded to the New Zealand, Australia and USA consultations and work is underway for the final consultation on the TPP. All four consultations are open for anyone to reply to and, with people in sectors outside of agriculture far more keen for free trade deals with New Zealand and Australia than UK sheep farmers, NSA encourages members to respond to the consultations in their own right to add weight to concerns around increased sheepmeat imports. All four consultations are online and the closing date is Friday 26th October. NSA’s responses can be viewed here, as a guide for anyone wanting to do their own response.
