NSA gives boost to new sheep farmer with Tornado wire win

9th October 2018

Charlotte Dring of Hollins Farm near Pickering, North Yorkshire, has been selected as the third winner of a fantastic Tornado wire prize package as part of National Sheep Association’s (NSA) membership prize draw for 2018.

While her family farm beef cattle, Charlotte has recently started her own flock of pedigree Texel sheep and look the logical decision to join NSA when spending the day at the Great Yorkshire Show back in July.

Charlotte says: “I decided to join NSA to keep updated with sheep, as it is a subject and industry close to my heart. I really enjoy reading NSA’s notices and publications.

“I have loved sheep all my life. My favourite time of the year is lambing time, as the rush and adrenaline around is the best feeling. I have previously worked as a shepherdess with 1,250 breeding ewes so am excited to see how my own flock grows.”

As part of the prize package, kindly donated by Tornado wire, a long standing supporter of NSA, Charlotte receives a set of stock fencing wire and fixings worth more than £450. All new members joining NSA in 2018 are automatically entered into a prize draw, as well as existing members who recommend friends or neighbours to join the association.

Charlotte continues: “It was a lovely surprise to receive the phone call informing me of my win. This prize will really benefit my business as it means I will not need to purchase what I need to fence my paddock off and create a more permanent area for my sheep.”

Charlotte’s membership of the NSA supports the organisation’s work to provide a voice for the UK sheep sector at this crucial time and gives access to a wide range of benefits.

One further prize draw will be made in November 2018. Information, full terms and conditions and NSA membership forms can be found at www.nationalsheep.org.uk/draw.
