NSA Cymru/ Wales Region welcomes announcement of funding into the eradication of Sheep Scab

NSA Cymru/Wales has welcomed the announcement by Welsh Government that £5million of Rural Development Programme funding will be used to help eradicate sheep scab in Wales, following the submission of the ‘Proposed strategy to the Welsh Government by the Welsh Sheep scab Group’ in September 2018.
NSA Cymru/Wales Development Officer Helen Roberts said: “We welcome this positive step towards eradicating sheep scab in Wales. The industry sees first-hand the very significant impact sheep scab has on livestock health and welfare and we are delighted to see Welsh Government supporting industry to eradicate this highly contagious disease.”
NSA Cymru/Wales Region will continue to promote the need for this project as further details are announced and continue to work with the Welsh Government to ensure the project works well to eradicate the disease.
