NSA on the hunt for Scottish Regional Coordinator (three days a week) and Operations Director (maternity cover)

National Sheep Association (NSA) is currently looking for two new staff members – one working for NSA Scottish Region as a part-time Regional Coordinator, and one working from NSA Head Office to cover a period of maternity leave for the current Operations Director. NSA Scottish Region is looking for a part-time Coordinator to support its work throughout Scotland

NSA Scottish Region is looking for a Regional Coordinator on three days a week to further the work of NSA and continue to raise the profile of the organisation, working alongside existing officeholders, committee members and staff members including the NSA Scottish Region Event Organiser. Areas of responsibility will be to facilitate and support policy work in NSA Scottish Region; develop, expand and organise initiatives and campaigns to raise the profile of the association in Scotland, optimising press coverage, strengthening its profile and increasing its ability to recruit and retain members; and facilitate and support the work of NSA Scottish Region Committee, integrating key policy topics into meetings, events and activities and ensuring consistency between different areas of work. This is an exciting and varied role where the right individual will be able to build on existing activities and design and deliver new ones, linking with NSA activity in other parts of the UK where appropriate.

The role will suit an enthusiastic, organised and creative individual. The ideal candidate will be familiar with sheep farming in Scotland. They will perform well on independent projects and work effectively with other staff and volunteers. They will have good communication skills suited to the agricultural sector. They must have a full driving licence and be willing/able to travel throughout Scotland with the flexibility for some evening and occasional weekend work. Some travel will also be required to NSA Head Office at Malvern, Worcestershire, and NSA meetings held near Birmingham Airport.

Call for expressions of interest to provide maternity cover for NSA Operations Director

NSA is looking for someone to join the busy team at NSA Head Office, Malvern, Worcestershire, for a period of eight months from January 2020 to help provide maternity cover for the NSA Operations Director.

We are looking for an experienced and successful individual with an ability to quickly get to grips with new situations, to work collaboratively with a small management team to direct and manage the everyday operational functions of NSA. This will include the professional, effective and consistent delivery of communications, corporate sales, membership recruitment/administration, research/development, events, activities and campaigns work, in order to attract new and serve existing NSA members, and progress NSA objectives.

Expressions of interest are invited from highly organised individuals with proven experience in project management, problem solving and management of staff and budgets. Some knowledge of NSA and/or the sheep industry is preferable. A fixed contract of eight months is on offer but, at this early stage, NSA is hoping to identify interested individuals with whom to develop the role, offering flexibility on the number of hours per week.
