Cornish NSA member becomes latest winner of prize giveaway

3rd August 2021

Having recommended a friend join the National Sheep Association (NSA), Cornish sheep farmer Tracey Cobbledick was surprised to hear that she was the winner of the latest NSA membership prize giveaway.

Through her recommendation, Tracey was entered into the prize draw and becomes the second winner of the NSA prize this year. She receives a lamb warming box and deluxe lambing pens kindly donated by quality recycled product manufacturer Solway Recycling as part of NSA’s 2021/22 membership prize giveaway.

Tracey runs a 120 acre (48ha) farm near Bude, Cornwall with 35 pedigree Beltex ewes producing breeding rams and 120 commercial mules producing quality butchers lambs that are sold through her local livestock market. Tracey sells rams through the NSA South West Region sale at Exeter Livestock centre, taking place later on this month.

Tracey comments: “It was a nice surprise to hear that I had won because I had only just recently recommended a friend to join the NSA. I value my membership as it allows me to sell at the NSA South West sale in Exeter, a sale that goes from strength to strength.” The quality of Tracey’s stock has not only seen her sell well at the South West sale but also receive prizes for both live and carcase classes at agricultural shows throughout the summer and winter.

All new members signing up to join NSA between February 2021 and the middle of February 2022 will be entered into the future prize draws. There are now two further chances for new members of NSA to win a lamb adopter or lamb warming box and sheep pens kindly donated by Solway Recycling as part of NSA’s 2021 membership prize giveaway. Existing NSA members just like Tracey, also have the chance to win by recommending a friend, family member or neighbour sign up too. There is no limit to the number of entries for existing members, the more recommendations made, the more entries earnt. Find out more at www.nationalsheep.org.uk/draw.

The opportunity to win a useful piece of sheep farming equipment was welcomed by Tracey. She comments: “I’ve got a long wait before I can use my prize but I will look forward to lambing time even more now knowing that this will help with the management of ewes and lambs.”

Founded more than 20 years ago Solway Recycling Ltd is highly experienced in the recycling of waste agricultural products. By running its own farm waste collection service and then returning many products back onto farm in a new and usable form a closed loop is created both ecologically & physically.

In addition to the opportunity to win one of these excellent Solway prizes, NSA membership subscription importantly supports NSA’s work to provide a voice for the UK sheep sector and gives access to a wide range of benefits which are detailed here.
