23rd March 2021 Iconic Ram Sales Returns Preparations are underway for this year’s NSA Wales & Border Ram Sales. Buyers and vendors from all over the UK and beyond are eager to return to the One Stop Shop at Builth Wells. The Early Sale will take place on August 2nd, venue to be confirmed, while the Main Sale will be held at the traditional venue, the Royal Welsh Showground, on September 20th. Read More
23rd March 2021 New Chairman Elected for 2021-2023 The new chairman of the NSA Wales & Border Ram Sales is Graham Jones of Garth Hall Farm, Llanfabon, Pontypridd. He takes over from Richard Gwilliam. Graham and his wife Mary have been stalwarts of the sale since the very early days. They are also long-standing Texel breeders, with 75 pedigrees and 250 commercial ewes. Read More
26th January 2021 VERY IMPORTANT CONSULTATION DOCUMENT - PLEASE RESPOND!! This could have such a big impact on our industry NSA NEEDS YOU TO HAVE YOUR SAY: Members will no doubt be aware of the active Defra and Welsh Government consultation on ‘Improvements to animal welfare in transport’ with responses required by 26th February. A similar consultation is being conducted by Scottish Government with a similar closing date . Read More
9th November 2020 Jim Powell (Cwmfaerdy) We have to sadly report the passing of Jim Powell, Cwmfaerdy. Jim had been a long standing supporter of the Ram Sales, he had served on the committee for many years and whenever we needed something doing Jim and members of his family were always there with a solution! Jim and his family provided the initial bio-security for us at the sales, which Aubrey has taken over latterly, David is one of our senior inspectors and now his grandchildren provide help with erecting hurdles! When we first introduced the tup taxis most of the bikes were provided by members of his family and many are still involved. Read More
