Choose Scotch Lamb for Love Lamb Week!

4th September 2020

Love Lamb Week 2020 kicked off this Tuesday highlighting the versatile, delicious meat that is produced in harmony with the environment in the UK. This year’s campaign, the sixth to take place since its launch back in 2015 aims to really open the consumers eyes to the sustainable nature in which lamb is produced and the nutritional benefits it offers.

NSA Scotland has been already been busy sharing stories of how its members naturally produce delicious and extremely versatile lamb that is sold on local shop shelves.

NSA Next Generation Ambassador 2020 Amy Jo Reid and NSA Scotland committee member and QMS Lambassador Michelle Stephen have produced short videos which have been distributed over social media. Michelle explains her finishing system and the distribution outlets the farm alongside the visual representation of the land she farms and the fantastic support her trusted network of dogs provide on a daily basis. Amy Jo highlights one of her contract shepherded organic flocks and how it works alongside Agri-Environmental schemes to produce a sustainable product which is naturally one of the healthiest versatile red meat available to the consumer. Breed characteristics of naturally high disease and parasite resistance in addition to prolific and hardy traits to survive the cold winters of Morayshire are some of the things that are being used to progress the flock year on year.

Make sure to keep an eye out over the weekend to see who else has got involved on the NSA Facebook page and NSA Scotland Facebook page here.
