More clarity but FAST action needed on co-design for successful ag policy
Following sustained pressure on the Scottish Government in recent months to better communicate plans for future agriculture policy, industry stakeholder group FAST welcomed some clarity given by the Cabinet Secretary, Mairi Gougeon, last week. The Food & Agriculture Scotland Taskforce (FAST) was established in Autumn 2022 following frustrations about the lack of clear communication and engagement from Scottish Government with the sector, regarding policy developments.

Please be alert if you work for a company or organisation that has supported NSA sheep events in the past and you receive a pre-populated form reportedly offering free advertising in an 'International Fairs Directory' or 'Expo Guide' – see example below.

Scottish sheep farmer Ian Duncan Millar has been presented with the National Sheep Association (NSA) George Hedley Memorial Award for 2022 in recognition of his outstanding contribution to the UK sheep industry.
