Advertising and Corporate Opportunities
NSA provides a variety of advertising and corporate opportunities. Some are outlined here and others / packages containing multiple options can be discussed by contacting Helen Roberts, NSA Corporate Sales Manager, on 07976 803066 or email@example.com.
Sheep Farmer magazine
NSA Sheep Farmer magazine is an essential communication route for everyone in the sheep sector. It provides a unique mix of best practice advice, seasonal updates and farm features, as well as keeping readers abreast of the vital work NSA does on behalf of the industry. It is a perfect way to ensure your advertising presence reaches a specific and dedicated audience.
The magazine is published six times a year and posted to all NSA members, NSA-affiliated breed societies and supporters. Additional copies are also distributed via shows, events and direct mailings to other people specifically linked to the sheep sector. Each print run is always at least 7,000 copies. Editorial contains NSA updates, NSA event/ram sale previews and reports, farm features, regular contributions from industry partners, and seasonal health, breeding and nutritional advice. News analysis pieces feature regularly, as well as business and financial advice, and a section for young people in the industry. Each 12-month cycle tends to include updates on farm security, farm safety, domestic and overseas markets, and other issues of interest to sheep farmers.
Advertorial and editorial opportunities are also on offer. Advertorial prices are available on application and editorial will be considered if companies contact NSA at least six weeks before a publication date with a suggested technical / best practice article for readers; if agreed, a deadline and word count will be provided.
Corporate Support & NSA Weekly Email Update
Further opportunities are available to companies via our standard and gold Corporate Support packages, including buying advertising space in the NSA Weekly Email Update sent to more than 4000 recipients every Friday. Statistics are closely monitored and fed back to those that advertise, and advertising space is limited to ensure companies have targeted exposure to their audience.
Corporate Supporters are also formally acknowledged on the NSA website, with links provided to their own websites, and annually recognised in Sheep Farmer magazine. Nominated staff in companies that hold a support package are sent the magazine six times a year and the Weekly Email Update every Friday, to keep them up to date with important political and technical advances in the sheep sector. Download a Corporate Supporter application form or contact Helen Roberts.
NSA limits advertising on its website but does offer very specific opportunities linked to certain areas of activity – such as sponsorship of the NSA Lambing List or sponsorship of various webinars and online events. Speak to Helen Roberts to explore opportunities in these areas.
NSA Sheep Events
NSA hosts and organises a range of events on a biennial calendar, including the flagship national NSA Sheep Event and renowned NSA regional sheep events. The combination of the national event and regional on-farm events means the biennial calendar takes in every corner of the UK and attracts an audience of active sheep farmers from the smallholder to the large commercial operator.
These events give further opportunities to engage with a specific audience through having a stand or by gaining further exposure through sponsorship. Packages vary in size and value but the top tiers include a number of opportunities, including social media activity before the day and workshops on the day. NSA produces Event Guides for many of its events, with advertising opportunities either offered at a list price or included within sponsorship packages. Find out more from Helen Roberts or on the Events section of the website.
NSA regions & ram sales
NSA is made up of nine regions, all of which have their own administrator and committee. As well as organising the NSA regional sheep events, they have farm walks, members’ meetings and, in some areas, annual ram sales. The regions and ram sales welcome the opportunity to have other companies join them to spread best practise messages. Contact Helen Roberts or click here for details of individual regions.
Prize draw opportunities
NSA is always on the lookout for commercial companies looking to donate prizes for NSA campaigns. Such prizes come with the equivalent value in press and promotion, including various combinations of online and social media activity, direct emails, press releases, Sheep Farmer content, promotion at all NSA events and activities and more. The two main types of campaigns are membership recruitment (targeting sheep farmers who are not yet NSA members) and data collection (targeting all sheep farmers). More information is available from Helen Roberts.
