Does your vet know about Flock Health Clubs?

5th May 2016

NSA is very pleased to be supporting a new initiative by the Sheep Veterinary Society to create Flock Health Clubs around the UK. These clubs will be veterinary-facilitated sheep farmer discussion group aimed at providing a new way to access cost effective veterinary advice. The clubs will encourage improved farmer-vet relationships, spread the cost of vet advice between groups of sheep farmers and allows the opportunity to share figures and benchmark with local equivalent flocks.

Phil Stocker, NSA Chief Executive, says: “We feel there is huge potential for NSA members to gain from these Flock Health Clubs, but they will only work if vets get involved at this early stage and take steps to set up groups in their area. We urge all NSA members to see if their vet is aware of the new initiative and if they are planning to attend one of six meetings being held in June. These veterinary CPD meetings will provide information to vets on how to run a Flock Health Club at their practice.”
