North Yorkshire smallholder becomes latest winner of NSA prize

A sheep farmer from North Yorkshire will be kept warm and dry this winter after becoming the lucky winner of the latest National Sheep Association (NSA) prize giveaway.

Teaming up with Outback Outfitters, retailers of quality work and outdoor wear, NSA was pleased to give new members of NSA who began their membership subscription at the end of November, coinciding with the Royal Welsh Winter Fair, the chance to win a stylish Taran Smock, designed and manufactured by Outback Outfitters. George Donlon, from Northallerton, North Yorkshire was selected as the lucky winner of the coat in the recent prize draw.

Durable, practical and 100% waterproof, the Taran Smock is perfect for all weather conditions and is already proving useful for Mr Donlon who farms a small flock of sheep including Kerry Hill and Teeswater ewes belonging to his daughter.

Mr Donlon comments: “I decided to sign up to NSA membership as I felt it was an ideal opportunity to both improve our farming knowledge keeping ourselves and keep up to date with any farming changes while ensuring we keep the management and care of our flock is in line with current recommendations.

“I never expected to win this prize as a result so it was a fantastic surprise to find out I had won the draw, it made my day.”

NSA membership offers sheep farming enthusiasts many benefits in addition to the frequent prize draws offered to new and existing members each year. Crucially membership subscriptions also allow NSA to continue its work to involve it in every aspect of the sheep industry, providing a voice for UK sheep farmers to the people in power whilst keeping farmers themselves up to date with technical and political developments affecting their flocks.
