Love Lamb Week (1st - 7th September)
Having established itself in 2015 a strategically planned Love Lamb Week (run 1st - 7th September annually ) provides the perfect opportunity to highlight much of the on-going lamb promotional activity already out there as well as encourage consumption of lamb during its peak season. NSA is working closely with AHDB Beef & Lamb and other industry bodies to facilitate the campaign, but its success is built upon the desire of individual farmers to get involved and amplify the messages doing whatever they can - be it running lamb tastings in their local area, engaging with the public or generating and sharing content on social media.
Its never too early to start planning! Here are just a few ideas of how you might like to get involved:
- Get your Love Lamb Week resources from AHDB Beef & Lamb -
- Visit your local farm shop, butcher or pub and highlight Love Lamb Week: Ask them to promote local lamb on the specials boards for the week to celebrate.
- Back to school: See if you can visit your local school and hand-out recipe leaflets to promote the quick and easy keema lamb mince, perfect for the back to school rush!
- Get social: Find @LoveLambWeek on Twitter and Facebook and share your Love Lamb Week content.
- Tell your story: Post pictures of any activity and even your delicious lamb dinner using the hashtags #LoveLambWeek and #LoveLamb

www.simplybeefandlamb.co.uk - AHDB Beef & Lamb incorporates lamb promotion into a wide variety of its activity. The organisation is continually working with retailers and butchers to promote new lamb cuts, as well as doing public-facing promotions. Most recently AHDB has released a timely series of cooking demonstrations to help families perfect their barbecuing skills.

New Next Generation Love Lamb Ambassador takes on campaign promotion
Rosie Bloor from Somerset was the obvious choice to take on the role of Love Lamb Ambassador following a call for Next Generation applicants to become the face of the Love Lamb campaign earlier this year.
Running 300 ewes extensively across the Mendip Hills and Somerset Levels Rosie knows first hand the value and importance of sharing positive farming messages via social media having already established a following on social media with stories from her life shepherding their flock and selling some produce directly to the consumer.
Alongside husband James, and baby daughter Annabelle, Rosie leads operations on farm with their commercial flock of Lleyn, Texel and recently added Exlana ewes.
Rosie explains her reason for applying to take on the role: “I already share my daily farm life on social media via Instagram so thought this would be a good opportunity to reach a new audience. I share our farming experiences to show friends and family what I get up to and to educate them on British farming. We are always trying new and initiative ways to improve efficiency and productivity on the farm and I enjoy sharing this to show that sheep farming is not just chucking some sheep in a field!”
The farm also sells a small percentage of lambs direct to customers through meat boxes, another reason why Rosie applied for the role of Love Lamb Ambassador. She adds: “I'm passionate about British farming and helping the public to make the link from farm to what ends up on their plate. I believe it is so important to educate everyone on where their food comes from, dispel the many myths that are flying around these days about farming and help drive home the message that British lamb is a healthy, sustainable, affordable and delicious choice for everyone.”
