APGAW Abattoir enquiry

1st March 2019

The All-Party Parliamentary Group for Animal Welfare (APGAW) is seeking to assess whether the reduction in numbers of small and medium sized abattoirs in the UK has negatively impacted animal welfare. The Group intends to carry out a small inquiry involving cross party MPs and Lords (Lord Trees, Lord de Mauley, Baroness Mallalieu, Angela Smith MP, Rebecca Pow MP, Giles Watling MP, Henry Smith MP currently)  over the next couple of months and that work will start with the collection of some initial written evidence from key stakeholders.

If you would like to participate in this inquiry, the Group would be most grateful if you would provide a written response to the attached set of questions. Please limit each answer to 300 words to ensure our political members will have the time to read them fully and we will then seek to obtain further information during our oral evidence sessions.

Your response should be sent to admin@apgaw.org or Office of Lord Trees, House of Lords, London, SW1A 0AA. The closing date for responses is 10th March
