NSA welcomes improved availability of vaccines at crucial time
The National Sheep Association (NSA) is welcoming news that stock levels of vaccines protecting breeding ewes from enzootic abortion (EAE) are returning to normal after recent shortages. As the UK sheep breeding season gets underway, later lambing flocks will now be able to source the important vaccine required to protect ewes from miscarrying their lambs due to EAE.

NSA Scotland Field Day set to inspire and inform this Autumn
Scotland’s sheep farmers can maximise their flock health this Autumn as the Scottish Region of the National Sheep Association (NSA), alongside industry experts, welcomes producers to its first ‘NSA Scotland Field Day’ on Tuesday 31st October 2023. Taking place at the renowned Fearn Farm, on the Easter Ross Peninsula, by kind permission of the Scott Family, the day will allow visitors to view real time demonstrations with the farm’s flock of commercial sheep and join numerous industry workshops offering the chance to learn and discuss with fellow sheep producers.

NSA SCOTLAND ON TOUR
On Wednesday 16th August, NSA Scotland Committee members were given a guided tour of the Caltech Crystalyx factory at Silloth by kind invitation from Euan Hart, Regional Manager for Scotland and David Wood, Operations Manager. All attendees thoroughly enjoyed the afternoon session seeing where the raw products are brought into the factory before being blended, cooked and poured into the easily recognised buckets.
